World-renowned club brand Circo Loco is back in Birmingham in 2013 and returning to the charismatic Arena space. To utilize yet more of The Rainbow Venues exciting array of spaces they are expanding the site in conjunction with TYPE FESTIVAL to use the Rainbow Warehouse, The Rainbow Garden and the adjoining street that stretches underneath 18th century viaducts which acts as an amplifier for the sound within them and creates a stunning back drop for a rave on a grand scale.
Setting itself apart in the festival calendar because it dares to throw sound systems in urban dwellings. Situated in Digbeth the underground heart beat of the Midlands, get set to see the all star line up of Circo Loco that includes Seth Troxler, Matthias Tanzmann, Davide Squillace, Cassy, Kerri Chandler, Maceo Plex, Apollonia, The Martinez Brothers, Tania Vulcano, System of Survival and Tale of Us.
To complement Circo Loco’s complete take over of the Arena and street TYPE will be introducing itself with a distinct collection of artists; Berlin hero Prosumer, Needwant’s Kim Ann Foxman, a special live showing from John Heckle and sets from San Soda and Citizen.
Day 2 TYPE takes over The Arena with Jamie Jones to headline, alongside Planet E chief and bona fide Detroit techno legend Carl Craig. Also in on the action in the massive Arena is Art Department as well as Move D and One Records main men Adam Shelton and Subb-Ann.
For this year’s Circo Loco in the Arena, a new door system has been installed so as to ensure that everyone gets in smoothly, thereby avoiding the issues we regrettably had last year. What’s more the event has a full license and so there will be more cash bars dotted all around the site, adding to the stunning production across all venues and an added viewing platform for those who like to party and soak up the atmosphere from above. The biggest addition for this years event though is the expansion of the festival to include a second large space with the equal depth and character of the Arena.
From its crazy clown face logo to the sit downs which occur on the dancefloor of its DC: 10 home in Ibiza to world class DJs from the worlds of house, techno and plenty in between via the pure hedonism the name engenders amongst clued up clubbers everywhere, Circo Loco is a true underground institution and has been since1999, so TYPE are proud to bring this full experience to the Midlands once again in 2013.
